WayBetter review: the app that absorbed RunBet
WayBetter built StepBet, DietBet and RunBet. Today all three roads lead to one membership app, and one of those products no longer exists.
What WayBetter is now
WayBetter is the company behind StepBet, DietBet and RunBet. It now sells one membership rather than three separate games. Type waybetter.com and you land on waybetter.app. Ask for the old /runbet or /stepbet addresses and you get the same app.
The homepage counts 1.4 million players and 14.7 million pounds lost, and invites you to “join 21k playing now” across nine goals: weight, general health, aging, sleep, exercise, nutrition, strength, smoking and memory.
What happened to RunBet
The standalone RunBet app was pulled in January 2021 and running was folded into the main WayBetter app. If you searched for RunBet and ended up here, that is why. There is no RunBet product to download, and the old link now lands on the WayBetter homepage rather than anything about running.
Who it suits
Someone who wants a broad habit programme with games attached, weighted heavily toward weight loss and nutrition. Fitness is one category of nine, and running is a slice of that one category.
If what you want is to race three friends over a week and have the winner collect, this is a wide net where you wanted a narrow one.
