GPS-verified, no cheating

Manual entries are blocked. Pace caps prevent driving-as-running cheats. Strava's GPS data is the source of truth.

💰

Real money on real miles

Buy-ins, payouts, and withdrawals through Stripe. Strava verifies the run, RunMatch handles the money.

Why Strava is the foundation of RunMatch

Real money on the line means real verification. Anyone can claim they ran 10 miles — Strava's GPS data is what makes it true. That's why RunMatch is built on top of Strava instead of using its own tracking.

Every run is automatic

You don't open RunMatch to track a run. You open Strava like normal, run your route, and end the activity. RunMatch picks it up via Strava's webhook within seconds and updates your competition standings.

Anti-cheat is built in

Frequently asked questions

How does RunMatch use Strava?

RunMatch reads your Strava activities through their official API. When you start and stop a run on Strava, the activity syncs automatically and counts toward any competition you're in.

Do I need a paid Strava account?

No. The free Strava account is all you need. Just connect it once during RunMatch onboarding.

Can my Strava friends see my RunMatch competitions?

Only if you share. RunMatch competitions are private by default. Your Strava activities still post to your Strava feed normally.

Why does every run need to be on Strava?

GPS-verified runs prevent cheating. Manual entries and treadmill runs without Strava won't count. This is what makes real-money competitions trustworthy.

What if a run doesn't show up?

Make sure the activity is set to 'Run' on Strava and is not marked as manual. RunMatch picks it up within seconds via Strava's webhook.
